H. K. M. S. Kumarasighe, is an experienced Agronomist and agricultural extension expert backed by his B.Sc. (Special) Agriculture degree from the University of Peradeniya.
Currently he is working at Dahamsha International Pvt (Ltd) as the Agronomist in promoting our range of fertilizer mixers as well as he is playing an important role as an Agricultural Consultant in addressing overall agricultural issues of our client farmers.
He has over 25 years of extensive expertise in managing and implementing agricultural development and extension projects in many parts of the island,
He also has involved in conducting agricultural research activities in agronomy, fertilizer applications and methodology development, crop response and performance evaluation for fertilizer application trials and fertilizer recommendation development for field crops and perennials.
Extensive experience thorough the career on training and education of farming community on agronomy, crop productivity, integrated pest and disease management (IPM), Integrated soil nutrient management (INM) and covering many other agricultural aspects.
He has previously worked for national projects at the Department of Agriculture and taken initiatives in promoting rice technology, post-harvest technology & management, and sustainable farming practices.
He has expert skills in agricultural extension work, project coordination, training & education and he has successfully involved in training thousands of government agricultural field officers and farmers during his career at department of agriculture.
He was actively engaging in agricultural field extension work, training materials and publications development and participated for electronic media program in Radio & TV channels on agricultural extension as a part of National Agricultural Extension Work at Department of agriculture.
He has successfully implemented and conducted a highbred Chilli Seed Production Program to contribute to fulfill the National Chilli Seed requirement
Working as an active Member at SrilanKORAA (Sri Lanka Korea Rural Development Alumni Assortation) which is a Korean international collaboration arm to enhance the Sri Lanka’s agriculture sector through implementing special agriculture development projects.
